If you are reading this, you either came to find out about Football, or Childhood Cancer. Yes, I know these are extreme opposites…but I have come to learn that life deals in extreme opposites. Everyone, football player or not, will experience exhilarating highs, as well as crushing lows.

From 1989 to 1992, I made two trips to the Pro Bowl, won the Super Bowl with the Washington Redskins and was named Super Bowl MVP XXVI. In 1998 I lost my 3 year old son Andrew to cancer.

Cancer can strip families of peace of mind, financial security, and lots of hours of sleep.

But it doesn’t have to strip people of hope.

In April of 2004, with the love and support of my two wonderful daughters Ambre and Angela, the Rypien Foundation was created with the sole purpose of providing hope for families fighting cancer. As you check out our site, my hope is that you will find out more about our foundation, and what we are doing. Even more so, I wish you will find ways to partner with us.

Through hard work, focus and teamwork, I succeeded on the football field. It is my prayer that these same attributes will enable us to successfully bring hope to families fighting cancer.
